About Chamira

It all started when a friend asked me to create an art collection of his wife's Friesian gelding. It was her pride and joy. Little did I know that I would fall in love when I showed up to their 100 acre property one humid morning for the initial photo session. Upon my arrival, I soon discovered that in addition to the Friesian, they actually had an entire herd of horses of multiple breeds. That day changed the trajectory of my art career. That shoot was such a joy. At one point as I walked through their field and photographed the horses at a distance with my zoom lens, a light tickle on my shoulder caused me to turn around.

One of the mares had been walking with her head over my shoulder all along, her big brown eyes regarding me warmly. Well, that did it. It struck me that I would love to do more of this. This artwork was born out of a quest to capture and ultimately memorialize the beauty of lovely equine creatures. They are truly majestic, and every single one of them is unique. I consider it my honor and job to capture those moments and put them in a form that you and generations of your family will enjoy.
