The Process:

Step 1: Submit the Form Below with a High Quality Photo You Took

Join my Commission Waitlist by emailing me at chamira@everlastingequine.com (or fill out the Contact Form below) with a detailed description of your request, including why you want the piece created. Tell the story behind it. Include the high quality source photo that you'd like the commissioned art piece to be based off of. The photo must be taken by you. Indicate which package you would like (see above).

Step 2: Submit Your $99 Deposit

No matter which package you choose, an initial deposit of $99 will get your painting started. The rest is due only upon completion, when you’re 100% happy. You will also sign a Commission Contract. We can have a phone or Zoom conversation prior to you paying or signing anything if you'd like, of course, so that you can ask any questions that you like.

Step 3: Your Portrait Is Created in 2 Stages

STAGE 1: Your project is started. Using your photo as a reference, I digitally combine it with handmade watercolor brush strokes, along with additional digital adjustments. I then send you a preview of what it will look on canvas via email. At this stage, you'll have a pretty good idea of what your portrait will look like.

It's vital (and required) that you review these emails so that I know you are satisfied with your piece's progress. I can't advance forward without your approval via email.

STAGE 2: After I get your approval, I print the portrait on canvas. Then, I apply some acrylic paint on top of the canvas by hand with a brush, along with some gold mica flakes to give it texture. Then, I apply an additional clear, protective coating on top, which adds gloss and additional texture, also with a brush by hand.

Below is a short video showing me at work:

At that point, I send you a video of what it looks like via email. Once I have your email approval that your happy with everything, all I need is the rest of your deposit, and then I'll ship the piece out to you.

Step 4: Your Final Approval and Remaining Payment

Once you give your final approval via email, final payment will be required. Your art piece will be sent to you after payment has been successfully submitted.

Once you've your final art piece, let me know what you think! Email me with your thoughts. Include a photo of it hung in your home, if you can.

FAQs

Question: So are these 100% hand painted? Or are you just running a filter or ai on the photo, and then just adding a bit of paint and sparkle to what’s essentially a computer generated art piece?

Answer: Great question! These are not spit out by an AI robot. While partly digital in nature, the photo is combined with my own handmade watercolor brushstrokes that were made on cold press paper. Other digital techniques are applied as well, including digital hand-painting. Each art piece can easily have over a dozen layers. It's quite an involved process that easily takes days for the digital portion. And then once it's printed on canvas, it takes additional days to painstakingly hand-embellish it with acrylic paint as well. Finally, I apply an additional clear, protective coating on top, which adds shine and texture, also with a brush by hand.

Question: Do you keep me updated as you work on my portrait?

Answer: Absolutely! At every stage of the process, you'll get updated via email. It's very important that you reply to each email within 24 hours so that I can complete your portrait in a timely fashion. I can't continue move forward with your portrait if you don't reply back to my emails.
